Board of Director Vacancies
A key purpose of the annual meeting is to elect new board members. This year we have four positions available, with varying terms of 2 to 3 years. Board members are elected as directors based on your voting. The new board then votes in executive session for individual positions.

Brian Saul
Qualifications & Experience: Retired combat veteran with over 30 years of operational experience in team leadership and dynamic problem solving. As a trained strategist with a master’s degree in management and leadership, Brian excels in program development, team training, and planning. His training and experience help him focus on the people
involved, while effectively achieving goals.
Goals - How I feel I can contribute to the community: Having moved several times throughout my career, I understand that a neighborhood is more than just a place to live; it’s a community where families should live together and thrive. The Homeowners Association (HOA) should be a collaborative team with residents working together to identify, and help resolve issues, rather than an organization that merely enforces rules and imposes fines. I want to bring my knowledge, skills, and attributes to the HOA to benefit the residents.
Interests: I love cars, history, guns, and family. Which is why we’ve chosen to make Williamsburg our home.

Robby Schoerner
Qualifications & Experience: Current sitting PCSA Vice President and Chairperson of the Grounds Committee. I oversaw and coordinated multiple large scale community maintenance projects over the past 2+ years working with the BOD, JCC government officials, and local contractors. I am a handyman by nature which allowed me to complete countless community maintenance actions on my own, bypassing costly contractor repairs and saving community dollars. I am a military retiree of 25 years and continue to work part-time as a helicopter EMS pilot for a local hospital system as a second career.
Goals - How I feel I can contribute to the community: I seek to fulfill another 3-year term to complete necessary grounds related contractual updates and address continued community maintenance issues. I have become very knowledgeable of the community assets in need of care and would like to use that knowledge to continue to address the needs of the community in the most cost-efficient manner possible.
Interests: I am an avid trail hiker with my two dogs and I enjoy outdoor activities in general. A home DIY’er, I have completed many upgrades and renovations to my residence. Married to my wife of 34 years, we have two adult children who live locally and we intend to keep the Powhatan Secondary community as our forever home.

Susan Tisdale
Qualifications & Experience: I have lived in Williamsburg since 1995 and have been a resident of Powhatan Secondary since 2012. I have served on the Richmond Ski Club Board of Directors, the Longwood College of Business and Economics Alumni Advisory Board, and the Board of Directors for First Night Williamsburg. I have been President of Web Development Technology Partners Inc., for 28 years.
Goals - How I feel I can contribute to the community: My interest in serving on the Powhatan Secondary Board is a desire to create a conservative budget that reduces the need for a regular yearly increase in annual homeowner dues. I also want to make
sure that each homeowner is aware of the Covenants and Declarations as they have been amended. Having built websites for other HOA’s including East Beach Norfolk, Greensprings Plantation, and The Villages at West Neck, I would be interested in Powhatan Secondary having a more robust online presence that makes it easy for all neighbors to get up-to-date information. This would allow the Board of Directors to make updates and keep track of documents relevant to all functions of the HOA.
Interests:
-
Representing the neighborhood at meetings of the School Board during redistricting, Planning Commission and Board of Supervisor meetings
-
Reducing expenses to maximize use of homeowner dues while maintaining property values
-
Creating an easy-to-use neighborhood web site to streamline information

RJ White
Qualifications & Experience: I have an MBA Finance and a CPA. Military veteran 2 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. Worked at the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General on major weapon systems costs and overruns. Testified before Congress twice on several major weapon systems costs and overruns. Received the Thanks of Congress for my work as Project Manager/Audit Manager for cost savings.
Goals - How I feel I can contribute to the community: I have owned investment properties In Williamsburg and other cities for over 50 years with HOA and Condo associations, moving here permanently in 2006. have been a Board member a number of times with the goal of improving the development and keeping the costs under control. I have an expertise at looking at cost proposals for work in the HOA with a good eye for potential cost overruns (CPA). I changed all the existing laws for HOA's, and Condominium ASSIGNED PARKING with a win in the VIRGINIA STATE SUPREME COURT, January 2006. This case is studied in all law schools' 2nd year HOA's and Condominium Associations. I am able to look at disputes from both sides since I have been on both sides, trying to keep the development the best and also seeing the concerns of the homeowner, about fairness.
Interests: I am a Licensed Historian by the NPS on the Civil War and was a part time Guide at Gettysburg when based at Dulles Airport living in Silver Spring, Maryland. I visit the Civil War and Revolutionary War Battlefields on a regular basis now that I am retired. I lift weights and run on a regular basis and hike each day through the CW historic area.
